Loft
The angle of a clubface from vertical, measured in degrees.
Loft is the angle of the clubface relative to vertical. It is one part of a club’s specification. Clubhead delivery, strike, speed and the ball also affect launch and distance, so loft alone does not tell you how far a club will go.
Reading loft in a club specification

These are specification examples, not a recommended driver setting for every golfer.
Club numbers can hide different lofts
Two clubs called a “7 iron” can have different lofts and lengths. Read the actual specifications before assuming they fill the same distance gap. A full-set table helps show which clubs are included and where a gap might need testing.
Choose by the shot you need
Use measured carry distances and strike consistency when judging spacing through the bag. More or less loft does not guarantee a particular distance for an individual player. A fitting can test the available loft settings with your swing.
