Lake Buena Vista’s renovation targets greens, bunkers and teeing grounds

Lake Buena Vista’s renovation targets greens, bunkers and teeing grounds

Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course is reported to reopen October 23, 2026, following renovations focused on greens, greenside areas, irrigation, bunker drainage and teeing grounds. WDW News Today’s September 1 report says reservations were available for rounds starting that date.

As of October 7, 2026, the operator’s course page still carries the May 4 closure notice and says renovations are expected into fall; it does not confirm October 23. Before committing travel around an opening-week round, check the official tee sheet or call (407) 939-4653 to confirm the reopening schedule.

What is changing?

The operator’s renovation announcement lists this planned work:

Area Announced change
Greens Full renovation with new contouring and elevations
Greenside bunkers and chipping areas Updates intended to improve playability
Irrigation Upgrades around greens and surrounding chipping areas
Bunker drainage New systems in many bunkers to reduce water retention after rain
Teeing grounds Enhancements to several tees

For a returning player, the key takeaway is that familiar greens and nearby recovery shots may play differently. Drainage and irrigation work is intended to improve conditioning; it is not a promise of particular opening-week conditions.

The announcement does not describe a hole-by-hole rerouting. If you are booking immediately after reopening, ask whether all 18 holes will use their finished greens and whether any temporary playing restrictions will remain.

How should you book a reopening round?

Start at the official Walt Disney World Golf booking page. It provides a Public & Resort Guests link and separate routes for eligible discounted categories. Select Lake Buena Vista and your intended date, then check the quoted green fee before confirming.

The booking page, checked October 7, 2026, says a valid credit card guarantees the reservation, but payment is taken at check-in rather than at booking. A no-show can trigger a charge. Cancel more than 24 hours ahead; the course’s cancellation policy also requires party-size reductions at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a possible penalty.

For the round itself, the operator’s course page states:

  • Carts are required and included in the green fee on its three championship courses, including Lake Buena Vista.
  • Each player needs a separate bag and clubs. Sharing clubs is prohibited; note rental needs when reserving.
  • Arrive at least 30 minutes before your tee time for check-in, cart assignment and warm-up.

These are existing operating policies, not announced renovation changes.

What if your trip is before reopening?

The operator recommends Disney’s Palm or Magnolia during Lake Buena Vista’s closure. If you want a walking round instead, it identifies Oak Trail as its nine-hole walking course. Use the official course and booking links to check the alternative that fits your group rather than assuming Lake Buena Vista will open early.
